Life's Beautiful
She checked her calendar, 7.30am- 8.30am: Call with Steve, 9am – 11am: Training on soft skills and it went on. Her days were always booked. She did not have any time for herself. At home too her 2 yr old kept her extremely busy. She did not complain.
Today was different. She was feeling tired. She did not want to get into the early morning client call. She wanted to sleep till late. She looked at the bed side clock. It was time for her to get up; else she would be late for office. She dragged herself out of the bed. She went through the routine chores like a robot.7am.She headed for the door. Office car would be waiting in the parking.
Unwillingly she got in. Logged in the laptop and checked all the data. The call was an important one. It would bring more business to the company. The car drove off. She was glued to the screen, unaware of everything. But her mind was not registering things today. She did not understand the figures of the reports she herself had made in the past week. It was a bad omen. She thought.
She checked the presentation. She would have to mail it to the client after the call. She went through each slide meticulously checking for any mistakes. Her sight became hazy. Just then the car came to a halt at a signal. . She looked outside the window. She saw a mother bird feeding her baby. The little bird was chirping about its mother and taking food from her beak. A few seconds later both flew away.
She smiled, logged off the laptop. Life was not that bad, she thought.
