She will be meeting him today after 5 years. Its been 5 long years that he was away completing his PhD. She was at the airport to receive him and the past flickered through her mind.
First, the exhilaration of knowing he has been accepted in the prestigious school. Then the realization of his long absence. Suddenly her world changed. He wasn't anywhere and he was everywhere in a song, in a scent, in a laugh she heard around the street corner and she wanted to die. without him she didn't exist.
The arrival announcement jolted her back to present. All the pain and agony will end now. She was numb, nervous. What if he didn't find her beautiful anymore. What if he has found someone else. She wanted to flee. She saw him now. Walking towards her. The familiar boyish smile on his face. He waved, her heart stopped and in moments she felt his arms around her and heard him say, "God I have missed you like crazy!" and the world blurred against them.
